Formula and calculation logic
Word-based styles
camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case and kebab-case split the text into words
Words are separated at spaces, punctuation and camel-case boundaries. camelCase lowercases the first word and capitalises the rest; snake_case and kebab-case join lowercase words with underscores or hyphens.
Sentence and title case
Title Case capitalises each word; Sentence case capitalises the first letter of each sentence
Title case preserves the original spacing and capitalises the first letter of every word. Sentence case lowercases the text first, then capitalises after a full stop, question mark, exclamation mark or line break.
Worked example
A variable name
“user account id” needs to become a JavaScript identifier.
Split into words: user, account, id
camelCase: userAccountId
snake_case: user_account_id
The same three words produce different identifiers depending on the naming convention your project uses.
A heading
A lowercase heading needs title case.
Input: “how to convert text case”
Capitalise each word: “How To Convert Text Case”
Title case capitalises every word. For sentence case, only the first word and proper nouns would normally be capitalised.
Edge cases and accuracy
Acronyms and mixed case
Word-based styles lowercase the input before rebuilding it, so “HTMLParser” becomes htmlParser or html_parser. That is predictable but may not preserve acronyms you want to keep.
Languages without case
Chinese, Japanese and Korean do not distinguish upper and lower case. The converter returns the text unchanged for those styles instead of inventing changes.
Line breaks
Sentence case keeps line breaks and capitalises the first letter of each new line. camelCase and snake_case join words across lines into one identifier.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between title case and sentence case?+−
Title case capitalises every word, while sentence case capitalises only the first letter of each sentence. Headlines often use title case; body text uses sentence case.
Does it change the meaning of my text?+−
It only changes capitalisation and, for camelCase, snake_case and kebab-case, replaces spaces and punctuation with separators. The words themselves are not translated or rewritten.
Can I convert a whole document?+−
Yes, within the limits of your browser. Very large documents may be slower because the conversion happens locally on every keystroke.
Does it support non-Latin alphabets?+−
Yes. Case changes use the browser’s locale-aware upper- and lowercase rules, so accented Latin, Greek and Cyrillic text is handled correctly. Scripts without case are left as they are.
Is my text sent to a server?+−
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, and the text is not stored or uploaded.
